Giovedì 5 ottobre alle ore 18.00 presso Arte Borgo Gallery sarà inaugurata la mostra collettiva dal titolo ‚TRANSPARENT AS A DRAGONFLY‘.

Consacrare l’autore de ‚Le Città Invisibili‘ è l’intento principale della mostra, che è stata concepita proprio come un riconoscimento ad Italo Calvino nel centenario della sua nascita. La mostra nasce dalla collaborazione di Arte Borgo Gallery e ArtCan, ponendo in prima linea il linguaggio espressivo degli artisti, i quali si sono lasciati ispirare da uno dei testi più significativi dello scrittore, ‚Le Città Invisibili‘.

Articolata in due appuntamenti, la mostra oltrepasserà i confini italiani: presentata dapprima nello spazio espositivo di Arte Borgo Gallery a Roma, nel 2024 proseguirà presso il Bermondsey Project Space di Londra. ‚Transparent as a dragonfly‘ riunisce le opere di 36 artisti accomunati da intrecci linguistici il cui ruolo è paragonabile a quello svolto dal lettore del romanzo che, affrontando differenti tematiche, concentra nelle complesse e diverse produzioni delle riflessioni permeate da un’indagine intima, da cui emerge la propria creatività. Uniti da una analoga introspezione sui luoghi, sulle persone e sulla memoria, gli artisti contribuiscono a costruire un dialogo armonioso tra spazio e opere. Ne risulta un’esposizione che, attraverso le pagine del romanzo e le opere degli artisti, genera una dimensione di magistrale coesistenza.

Partecipano alla mostra in qualità di ‚guest artists‘ l’architetto Felicia Cleper-Borkovi e il compositore brittannico Benedict Collins Rice, autori rispettivamente di un video e di una traccia sonora ispirati a ‚Le Città invisibili‘ di Calvino. Nel video sono inoltre presenti dei disegni realizzati dall’architetto Alan Codd.

Thursday 5 October 2023 at 6:00 pm, the collective art show „TRANSPARENT AS A DRAGONFLY“ will be inaugurated at the Arte Borgo Gallery.

Celebrating the author of ‚Invisible Cities‘ is the aim of the exhibition ‚Transparent as a Dragonfly‘, conceived of as a recognition to Italo Calvino on the centenary of his birth. The exhibition was born out of the collaboration between the Arte Borgo Gallery and ArtCan, placing the expressive language of the artists at the forefront, influenced by one of the author’s most significant texts, ‚Invisible Cities‘.

Divided into two appointments, the exhibition will move beyond Italian borders, firstly presented in the Arte Borgo Gallery exhibition space in Rome, in 2024 it will travel to the Bermondsey Project Space in London. ‚Transparent as a dragonfly‘ brings together the work of 36 artists united by linguistic interweavings whose role is comparable to the role of the reader of a novel who, addressing various issues, focuses on complex productions and reflections permeated by an intimate investigation from which one’s personal creativity emerges. United by a similar introspection on places, people and memory, the artists create a harmonious dialogue between space and works. An exhibition that celebrates a masterful coexistence through the pages of the book and the works of the artists.

Some guest collaborative artists take part in the exhibition: the architect Felicia Cleper-Borkovi and the British composer Benedict Collins Rice, authors of a video and a soundscape respectively, based on Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities. The video includes ink drawings by architect Alan Codd.
